Gathering Berries
£375.00Price
Gathering Berries is a small snapshot of a mixed hedgerow in Autumn. Delicate strands of Bryony have wound their way through branches of beech, where their ripe berries hang like garlands. Their colour is echoed by the brownish pink of the Chaffinches' breasts. Bryony berries are poisonous to humans, those other gatherers of hedgerow fruits, which leaves more for the birds!
This painting contains a strand of real bryony, sealed within the layers, and is protected with two coats of UV protective satin varnish.
