The couple who commissioned this painting had rented a harbourside cottage for the summer and wanted a lasting memento of their stay.

It shows the actual view from their kitchen window, adapted to include references to various events of that summer. The objects on the windowsill all have significance to the couple, evoking memories of people, places and pastimes associated with their time there.

Commissioning a Memoryscape
I work from a combination of your photos, other references and things you tell me about to create your memoryscape. Please note, any photos used must be your own. I can't use professional wedding photos, for example, unless you have written permission from the photographer for me to do so.

Initial discussions can take place by email, sometimes followed by a meeting either by video call or in person.
​
Once we have agreed on the basic details I will make a sketch of the proposed painting for your approval before work begins, and keep you updated on progress throughout.

Because of the amount of prep work for these paintings, please contact me as far ahead as possible if you need it by a certain date.
