I think of these painting/print hybrids as a collaboration with Nature.

I use natural botanical elements to create eco-friendly contact prints on watercolour paper. I then use paint and watercolour pencils to define and enhance the unpredictable patterns they produce, and to add the birds and other wildlife.

These are not prints in the usual sense, where many copies are made of each design. Each one is a unique individual artwork.

Due to the natural leaf pigments that produce the prints, I cannot predict whether they will gradually fade with time, but I feel this adds to their natural appeal. As with all paintings, especially watercolour, they should not be hung in direct sunlight, and should be framed behind glass to protect them.
