Verdigris is the chalky blue/green patina that develops on weathered copper and brass.
This mixed media painting was inspired by an old copper water tank in a shady corner of my garden. Time and Nature have decorated the metal with shades of blue, green and white, and softened the hard edges with ferns and ivy. It contains imprints from leaves, and even some of the leaves themselves, sealed within the layers.
Two layers of satin acrylic varnish give the surface a soft sheen.
Verdigris is supplied in a white-painted wood floater frame, and comes strung and ready to hang.
It is also available unframed if you would prefer to choose your own frame.
